Information for Agencies

Good talent management begins with thoughtful workforce planning, and Where the Jobs Are provides an organization-wide perspective—a big picture view of federal hiring projections over a three-year period for a wide range of jobs considered mission-critical.

The survey’s detailed information allows agencies to compare their needs with the requirements of other government organizations, and to use the data to make important human resource investments, to enhance their own workforce planning and to craft effective strategies for finding and hiring top talent.

Ideally, agencies will use the information to foster collaborative relationships and work together to bring high-caliber individuals into our government. Agencies with the same occupational hiring needs can join together to share information, draft job announcements, engage in cooperative recruitment efforts and later work together to provide intake and training opportunities.

Call to Serve Federal Agency Effective Hiring Workshops

The Call to Serve Effective Hiring Workshops are developed and hosted in conjunction with the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to provide practical and innovative human capital knowledge directly to HR Directors, recruiting managers and HR professionals. This is done through presentations, interactive small-group sessions and webinars. Each year’s workshop series is designed to improve agency hiring practices, build professional capacity and enhance collaboration among Call to Serve member agencies, and ensure government is planning to acquire the right talent in the right ways.

For more information about the workshops or agency Call to Serve membership, please contact Erin Creasy at ecreasy@ourpublicservice.org or Carly Wobigat carly.wobig@opm.gov.
